Brand: Sleep Love

Industry: Fashion & Apparel — Sleepwear (D2C)

Brego Solutions: Accounts, Finance & MIS

Product-First D2C Brand Sleep Love is a D2C sleepwear brand in the fashion and apparel space. Like many founder-led businesses at an early stage, the product and brand came first — and the financial infrastructure needed time to catch up.

When Sleep Love came to Brego, no data entry had been done for the entire financial year. The previous CA had been filing returns without maintaining structured books, leaving the founder without any real financial visibility — no P&L, no cost structure, and no way to understand performance. At the same time, there was no reconciliation between Shopify sales and the books. Payment gateway charges, commissions, returns, and discounts were not being systematically tracked — which meant reported numbers didn’t fully reflect business reality. The result: decisions were being made without a clear understanding of revenue, costs, or margins — and no reliable way to evaluate what was actually working.

1. Full Financial Year Backlog Clearance

Reconstructed and completed the entire financial year from scratch — building a clean, accurate set of books and bringing all historical data into a usable format.

2. E-commerce Reconciliation (Shopify + Payments)

Aligned Shopify sales data with accounting records — ensuring accurate tracking of revenue, returns, discounts, commissions, and payment gateway charges. This created a reliable base for all reporting going forward.

3. Structured Accounting Going Forward

Set up a consistent accounting process so books are maintained regularly — ensuring continuity, accuracy, and no future backlog.

4. MIS Reporting with Detailed Financial Breakdowns

Introduced structured MIS reporting that gives visibility across: Net sales (after GST, returns, discounts, commissions) Cost of goods sold including production, labour, and logistics Marketing spends across channels (ads, influencers, shoots, branding) Contribution margins (CM) and CM% Operating expenses including rent, salaries, software, and admin costs EBITDA and profitability metrics Cash flow tracking including inflows, liabilities, and working capital These reports gave the founder a complete view of how money moves through the business — from revenue to actual profitability.

1. A Full Year of Data, Finally Usable

With the entire year reconstructed, the founder could now analyse trends across months — not just look at isolated recent data — enabling more informed financial decisions.

2. Structured Visibility Across Revenue & Costs

Through MIS reports, the business now has clarity on net sales, true costs, marketing spends, and contribution margins — turning scattered numbers into a coherent financial story.

3. From No Visibility to Informed Decisions

With clear P&L, cost structures, and cash flow insights, the founder can now take decisions on pricing, spend, and growth with actual data behind them.

4. Accurate E-commerce Financials

Shopify and payment data are now fully reconciled with the books — ensuring that reported revenue and costs reflect reality, not assumptions.

5. Compliance Built on Proper Financial Data

Filings are now based on structured books aligned with actual sales and transaction data — ensuring accuracy, consistency, and long-term reliability.

Sometimes all a founder needs is to replace assumption with fact.
